Stand up against GBV and SBV”

Women like me saw our mothers’ heads bashed against the wall by the hands of the men we admired the most.

Women like us saw our uncles beating up their wives and children and that night they slept in the shamba.

Women like us woke up to our mothers’ and aunties’ swollen faces most mornings and we called that breakfast.

Women like us saw other women stripped naked and beat by their husbands while society watched, took videos and posted them on Facebook.

Speak up in whatever capacity you are in, these are our sisters. Next time it might be you. lets end this cycle
