“For it is the fate of a woman
Long to be patient and silent, to wait like a ghost that is speechless
Till some questioning voice dissolves the spell of that silence”

That voice is called feminism.

“Make Rapists Afraid Again!”

Women like me felt this voice from a younger age when our uncles drove their hands up our skirts during family get-togethers.

Women like me felt this voice when we could only look towards our mothers, speechless, as their cousin’s hands irritated our vaginas.

Women like me felt the cries, the muffled screams of our sisters being taken against their will in a forest we called home. The previous day it had been us and we knew exactly how they felt.

Women like me decided to eradicate rape culture by any means possible.
